In order to combine ingredients and obtain the nutrition analysis of those ingredients, the program must first convert all entered measures into a weight. All ingredients have the nutrition entered by weight.

Because the volume to weight ratio is not the same for all foods (1 cup of syrup has a different weight than 1 cup of water), in order for an ingredient to be entered in volume, there must be a specific weight added for the given food. For many of the ESHA ingredients, there has been a volume to weight conversion entered (to reflect specific weight of a given food). For user-added ingredients, one must add this relationship in the Measures page of the Ingredient.
